Owner Gene Hackett had reached an agreement with a buyer who would continue the business with music intact, but there was a wild card in the deck, the building owner. The landlord opted to lease the space to another party, who will open a sushi bar. No, really. You can blink now. Gene will begin dismantling the Cafe on April 10th. **************************************************************** * SBF Open Mike Schedule: Extra Open Mike & Last at the Garden * **************************************************************** These are the last two SBF open mikes to be held at the Garden: Thu March 30th -an extra open mike in March because you can't play too much music. Thu April 6th -SBF's last open mike at the Garden. A celebration of the last nine years at the Garden. Post April 6th -Somewhere Soon(tm), at a venue near you. As always, these events are free and open to all acoustic musicians/singers/songwriters. Sign up by 6:45pm; performances from 7-10pm. Together, they have the honor of closing out the Garden's last nights before moving on. Thu Apr 6th - SOUTH BAY FOLKS' last open mike at the Garden. A celebration of the last nine years at the Garden. Free, and open to the public; details as posted above.
