No decisions have been made. Finding a new venue is easy; finding a suitable venue is hard; finding a comparable venue is probably impossible. There are several factors to consider. The SBF Acoustic Open Mike has regularly attracted 40-60 people, both musicians and audience. A suitable venue needs to have adequate seating and parking, reasonable acoustics, and a music-friendly owner. Location is important too. The Espresso Garden was conveniently situated near the crossroads of I-280, Hwy 17 and I-880, allowing us to draw upon a talent pool that reached north to San Francisco, west to Santa Cruz, south to Gilroy, and up I-880 into the east bay. With the above factors in mind, we are still accepting suggestions for a new venue.
