This 40+ member orchestral band performs marches, show tunes, Disney tunes, big band, and symphonic classics. You can find all of the details, including the complete performance schedule with artist's information, links to maps, and driving directions at http://www.SouthBayFolks.org/vasona/ Vasona Vibrations is a joint effort by Santa Clara County Parks and South Bay Folks to bring a wide variety of acoustic genres to a wider audience. ************************************************ * Your photo on "Home of South Bay Folks" wall * ************************************************ If you have been to Mission City Coffee recently, you have seen the big Fiddling Cricket banner along with photos of performers from the Fiddling Cricket Concert Series. To the right of that, there is a new sign that says "Home of South Bay Folks." The plan is to fill up that portion of the wall with photos of South Bay Folks performers. If you are a regular, or even a casual performer, at the South Bay Folks Acoustic Open Mike, cafe owner, Jae, is inviting you to submit a framed, 16x20 photo for a permanent display. These will be mounted fairly high and need to be of a good size that is easily viewable from the floor. The photo should be of you performing, preferably at the Cafe. If you don't have a good photo to submit, photographer, Katie Cooney, has volunteered to photograph SBF'ers for this purpose. We have set up a photo shoot for 1pm Sunday, August 5th at Mission City Coffee. (Doing this in the afternoon, rather than at the open mike, will provide much better, natural light.) Send us an email if you are interested in participating in the shoot. You can see some of the photos that Katie has already taken of SBF'ers at http://www.katiecooneyevents.com/gallery/ Choose the "South Bay Folks" gallery. **************************************************************** * 29th Annual International Musical Saw Festival, Aug 11-12th * **************************************************************** Each summer, musical saw players from all over the world converge upon Roaring Camp in Felton for the Annual International Musical Saw Festival. Three days of acoustic fun: bluegrass, country, folk, gospel, blues, classical, and even show tunes; spontaneous acoustic jams.
