Sunday, October 12th, 2008 12pm till sunset at Vasona Lake County Park 333 Blossom Hill Road, Los Gatos, CA 95032 Bring your acoustic instruments, voices, picnic baskets, friends, and family. Find us at the lake, between the boat dock and the bridge, where there is plenty of shade, a great view of Vasona Lake, and a big barbecue pit. We'll get the fire started if you want to bring something to grill. Maps and more info here: http://www.southbayfolks.org/picnic-2008-fall/ ******************************************************* * Photo Session for SBF Display, 2pm this Sat Oct 4th * ******************************************************* Last year, photographer Katie Cooney volunteered her time and talent to take portraits of South Bay Folkies for the "Home of South Bay Folks" display at Mission City Coffee. Over half of the photos on the wall are Katie's work. The display was started as part of SBF's 15th anniversary celebration and attracts a lot of attention. There is now more space to expand the display, and Katie has once again volunteered to take portraits for South Bay Folkies who still lack a good photo for the wall. The photo session begins at 2pm, Sat, Oct 4th. Be sure to bring your instrument. ***************************************** * SBF T-Shirts: looking for suggestions * ***************************************** We are planning to do a run of SBF t-shirts again this year which will feature the SBF logo and a very clever tag line. The only catch is that we need a very clever tag line. Among the current suggestions: "Tuned and Dangerous" "A well tuned community" "Born to Folk" "It's the Music, Stupid!" "Got Folk?" "Be a Key Player" "Drop In; Tune Up; Folk Out" ...and we are looking for more. If you have a good suggestion, send it along and we will invoke the wisdom of the crowd to select one at the next open mike. ******************************************************* * The Gig List: Live Folk and Acoustic Music Calendar * ******************************************************* The Gig List is a calendar of folk and acoustic music performances in and around the South Bay. Please verify dates, times, and details for all events. Errors do occur; events may be rescheduled or canceled. Events are contributed to the Gig List via a form available on the web. If you have acoustic music events to contribute, you may email giglist-help@SouthBayFolks.org to gain access to the form.
